Creating a drug-free community takes more than a single program—it takes a community working together. The Newton County Partners in Prevention Coalition was formed to address youth substance misuse in Newton County through education, prevention strategies, community engagement, and access to resources. Working through the Jasper School District and a broad network of local partners, the coalition focuses on reducing youth use of alcohol, prescription medications, opioids, and other substances while strengthening protective factors that help young people thrive. Through awareness campaigns, educational events, youth leadership opportunities, community partnerships, and evidence-based prevention initiatives, Partners in Prevention is helping create safer, healthier communities throughout Newton County. Their mission is simple but powerful: empowering young people and families with the knowledge, support, and resources needed to make positive choices and build brighter futures.
